History of Civil Service in Ukraine

Volume 1 of the “History of Civil Service in Ukraine” covers a wide range of issues related to the state-building process, political and administrative structure of public administration and civil service, activities of civil servants. The cumulative author’s research contains analysis of interrelations of ancient states and communities in Ukraine up to the state-building process in Western Ukrainian People’s Republic. The analysis includes all forms and types (national, imperial, occupation) of administration in Ukraine. The given fundamental research has been completed within the framework of a scholarly project of the Center for Aligning Civil Service with the EU Standards (financed by the state budget) under the direction of the Main Civil Service Department of Ukraine. The project implementation, coincided with the 90th anniversary of Ukraine’s civil service, is being performed further to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Commemoration of the 90th Anniversary of Civil Service in Ukraine” dated June 11, 2008 #817. Within the mentioned project “The Essays on History of Civil Service n Ukraine” were published in 2008.
